YouTube Custom Audio
and Subtitles Languages

What this extension does

YouTube Custom Audio and Subtitles Languages automatically selects your preferred audio track and subtitle language on YouTube videos, based on rules you configure. It runs entirely in your browser and on youtube.com only.

Data collection

This extension collects no personal data of any kind. Specifically:

• No browsing history is recorded or transmitted.
• No video watch history is accessed or stored.
• No account information is read.
• No analytics, telemetry, or crash reports are sent anywhere.
• No third-party tracking scripts or services are used.

Local storage

The extension saves your language preferences (for example, which languages you understand and your fallback language) using Chrome's built-in storage.sync API. This data:

• Contains only language codes you enter (e.g. en, es).
• Is synced across your own Chrome profile via Google's infrastructure — this sync is governed by Google's own privacy policy, not this one.
• Is never sent to or accessed by the extension developer.

Permissions

The extension requests only two permissions:

• storage — to save your language preferences locally.
• Host access to youtube.com — to read the page's caption and audio track data so it can select the right track. No data from YouTube pages is transmitted anywhere.

Changes to this policy

If this extension's data practices ever change, this page will be updated and a new effective date will be set. Significant changes will also be noted in the extension's Chrome Web Store listing.
