GymCrumbs
Support

Javier Montes Martinez · Updated October 5, 2026

GymCrumbs lets you plan workouts on iPhone and follow them on your paired Apple Watch. This release uses local storage; automatic iCloud sync and a released Mac companion are not available.

Contact

Email [email protected] with the app version, your iPhone and Watch models, OS versions, and a description of the problem. Do not include Health records, personal workout exports, or other sensitive information unless you choose to share them. If you contact support, the developer, Cloudflare Email Routing, and Google Gmail receive the information you send to respond to your request.

Getting a routine onto Apple Watch

Install GymCrumbs on both devices, open the iPhone app, create or edit your routine, and open GymCrumbs on your paired Watch. Keep both devices nearby during setup. The iPhone sends routine updates to the Watch; delivery can wait until the devices reconnect. Choose a workout day on the Watch to begin.

Health permissions

GymCrumbs asks to read heart rate and save its Watch workouts in Apple Health. Manage these permissions in Apple's Health or Settings controls. Heart rate requires read permission. Saving workouts and background workout operation require permission to save workouts. Without that permission, keep the Watch app open to use workout steps and timers.

Start the workout in GymCrumbs itself. It creates a Functional Strength Training session; do not start Apple's Workout app for the same session. Finish the workout or swipe left to the stop page when you are done.

Missing workouts or connection problems

Open GymCrumbs on both devices and check that the Watch is paired and connected. A completed log can remain on the Watch until delivered to the iPhone. App-owned workout logs and recovery data are excluded from device backups, so reinstalling can lose this information. The developer has no server copy to restore.

Exporting and resetting

On iPhone, use Files > Export files to choose a destination for your data. Exports can include heart-rate averages, so review the recipient. Import workout_plan.json imports a routine, not an entire backup of your images and history.

Use Settings inside GymCrumbs to reset the routine, change history, or daily logs separately. These actions do not delete Apple Health workouts, all saved images, Watch copies, or previous exports. To remove all app-owned local data, stop active workouts and delete the app from both devices. Manage Health records and exported files separately.

Fitness scope

GymCrumbs is a workout planner and timer, not a medical device or diagnostic service. Heart-rate availability and workout recording depend on Apple Watch, permissions, and operating-system behavior. Choose exercises appropriate for you and seek qualified guidance when needed.
